Hey everyone, I’ve been mulling over which class feels best in Dune: Awakening, especially after spending a good chunk of time with the Swordmaster. I thought it might be helpful to compare it loosely against other popular classes like the Planetologist and Mentat, since many of you have asked me what to play Dune Awakening Solari.

The Swordmaster stands out because it truly balances solo viability with strong group performance. If you love aggressive melee combat and want an exciting challenge, this class fits perfectly. It delivers high single-target damage, great mobility, and decent survivability with the right gear.

The Planetologist is a completely different playstyle. It’s more focused on resource gathering and support. If you enjoy crafting, healing, or helping your team through buffs or defenses, the Planetologist excels there. But it lacks the combat punch needed to thrive solo or in PvP fights compared to the Swordmaster. For players who prefer a more laid-back or strategic role, it’s great, but it won’t make you a fearsome duelist.

Then there’s the Mentat, often praised for being beginner-friendly. This class helps newcomers grasp the basics without overwhelming complexity. However, when compared to the Swordmaster, the Mentat’s offensive abilities don’t quite match up. It’s solid for support and ranged attacks but doesn’t bring the same level of raw damage or mobility.

So if you want to jump into a class that can literally handle everything — massacring mobs in the Deep Desert, holding your own in PvP, and contributing strongly in team fights — the Swordmaster still holds the crown right now in the current meta.

But remember, Dune: Awakening is an evolving game. New classes might come out in the future and shift the balance. Still, for now, the Swordmaster packs the most punch Dune Awakening Items.
